The first Acer notebooks to feature AMD's just-announced Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors are here.

They are the Aspire 7 and Aspire 5. Both feature 15.6-inch displays and discrete graphics but the former is targeted at more demanding users, while the latter is more affordable but still packs a healthy amount of firepower.

Apart from a Ryzen 5000 series processor, the Aspire 7 also comes with NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1650 discrete graphics. It can be spec'ed with up to 32GB of memory and up to 1TB SSD. For users who need more storage, there's an additional 2.5-inch drive slot. Weight just 2.15kg.

The Aspire 7 also comes with Acer Color Intelligence and Acer ExaColor that adjust gamma and saturation on the fly to deliver crisper, more vibrant visuals. It also has an 81.6% screen-to-body ratio so its bezels should be quite slim.

No word yet on local availability and pricing but the Aspire 7 will go on sale in the US in March and EMEA in February. The base configuration comes with a Ryzen 5 processor, 8GB of memory, 512SB SSD, and a GeForce GTX 1650 for US$749 (~S$993).

The Aspire 5 weighs its Ryzen 5000 series mobile processor with a less powerful Radeon RX 640 discrete graphics. It can be equipped with up to 24GB of memory and 1TB SDD and/or up to a 2TB HDD.

The 15.6-inch display is IPS and features Acer BlueLightShield technology that reduces the emission of blue light.

Again, no word yet on local availability and pricing, but the Aspire 5 will be available in the US in March and EMEA in February. The base configuration comes with a Ryzen 5 processor, 8GB memory, and 256GB SSD for US$549 (~S$728).
